{"id":623,"date":"2009-10-04T18:27:38","date_gmt":"2009-10-04T22:27:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.thomaskrohn.com\/family\/wordpress\/?p=623"},"modified":"2009-10-04T18:27:38","modified_gmt":"2009-10-04T22:27:38","slug":"emilys-poetry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.thomaskrohn.com\/family\/wordpress\/2009\/10\/04\/emilys-poetry\/","title":{"rendered":"Emily&#8217;s Poetry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Emily has written another special piece.\u00a0 Similar to her <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomaskrohn.com\/family\/wordpress\/2009\/02\/19\/emily-our-budding-author\/\" target=\"_blank\">imaginative journal writing<\/a> from last year, she let her creativity come through on this 5th grade poetry assignment.\u00a0 Yes, we are proud parents!<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\">The Five Senses of Autumn<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong>The Smell&#8230;&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em>The crispy air that is stained with apple,<br \/>\nThat stings the nerves that smell it,<br \/>\nA smile crosses the face,<br \/>\nFor sweetness touches the soul in autumn.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong>The Touch&#8230;&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em>From the sticky hand from pumpkin pleasure,<br \/>\nTo\u00a0 the crisp of leaves that wind in your hair,<br \/>\nThe things that you\u00a0 feel during fall,<br \/>\nHave a touch that creates a moment.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong>The Sight&#8230;&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em>Even with the trees all bare ,<br \/>\nAnd leaves in the air,<br \/>\nThe sight takes no fright,<br \/>\nTo be stored in your mind.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong>The Sound&#8230;&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em>The crunching leaves,<br \/>\nGive off quite a ease ,<br \/>\nThat shares a please,<br \/>\nTo be carried with the breeze.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em><strong>The Taste&#8230;&#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em>It\u2019s the candy corn that crunches,<br \/>\nThat spoils your lunches,<br \/>\nThe pumpkin pie that destroys,<br \/>\nThe veggies joys,<br \/>\nThe gravy that makes you desire,<br \/>\nMore on your plates tower.<\/em><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><em>Though it is over, the fun won\u2019t go lower.
